Good pics

And as promised, here is a brief review of Eric's Exhibition:<br/>It was a sunny and bright day up at the top of Park Hill on Sunday, though big rainclouds were looming on the horizon. "Let's look at the exhibition and then go for a little walk along the canal" was my main thought but we ended up getting so distracted by the pictures and sitting and yabbering to Eric and his friend (name forgotten - sorry - please add to the comments) about life, art, modernism, and the highs and lows of social housing that by the time we finished it wasn't really worth going for a walk by the canal. read more...

Photography Exhibition

To add to the cultural livelihood of Park Hill in what seems to be an annual event, one of the flats is turning into a gallery for the next couple of weekends and is playing host to local photographer Eric Winnert. The Sorcerer

This weekend we went to my home town of Lancaster and thence to the quaint village of Hornby to see various members of my family performing in The Sorcerer, a comic-opera by Gilbert and Sullivan which involves a nice young vicar unknowingly distributing psychedelic tea. Stari Most

There seem to be quite a few things in the news today, the most uplifting is that Stari Most, the old bridge in Mostar will be getting a new keystone. This is the bridge destroyed in 1993 during the war, having spanned the gap for 500 years. read more...
