(Clermont l'Herault)

We went on the pretext of getting fish - last October we also visited mainly due to there being a doctor's conference in the Harlequin and remember moaning about being cold and having small portions while admiring other people's large platters of seafood. Anyway we should have learnt from our experience because it was way too Nouvelle for it's own good, with over-small over-pretty over-expensive portions on big plates. For example I ordered something involving ecrevisses and got four tiny tiny spring rolls and some strange elongated all-bran. Jackie had scallops which were presented in a glass, suspended in a sort of soup. Tasty but unnecessary when the only proper way to deal with scallops is simply to fry them in a little butter.

The moral of this tale: You know you haven't been given enough food when you have room for desert.
