Manchester Blogs

The other night I went out to the Manchester Blog Awards ceremony - and felt somewhat disappointed at my lack of bloggy goodness. There hasn't been any shortage of stuff to write about, just lack of headspace and perhaps a little feeling of exposure. That and my concentrating on the photography which of course has seen no end of content produced over the past months. Still, I figure that this is just the way of things and nothing to worry too much about and that writing will come back.

Anyway the blog awards were great fun - I particularly like these kind of events. You can see people with a common interest who don't get to see each other in the flesh very often checking each other out as if to say "You must be so-and-so... I know who you are, I've read your blog..."

People were reading bits of their blogs - my favourite reading of the night was probably Chicken and Pies though I definitely had a parental soft spot for the brutal honesty of Single Mother on the Verge. The guy who writes Manchester Busses also known as 14 Sandwiches or Starfighter Pilot depending on what way the wind is blowing also seems like an excellently diverse kind of chap - he was so busy liveblogging the thing that he didn't stop while receiving his award for "Best neighbourhood blog".
