Toward the end of last week I went for a second outing with my beloved Korg. It has been years since I did anything properly musical but recently I've been getting my oar back in, playing piano and synth at various jam nights including Matt & Phreds and The Noise Upstairs. The latter was probably my favourite - you stick your name (but not your car keys) in a hat when you walk in and players are drawn out randomly three at a time to play. I did two sets accompanied by guitar and cello (but different people) on both.

So yes, last week's outing was just me by myself as a support act for my mates the Monkeys in Love (formerly known as Spacecat, formerly known as Monkeys in Love). Somehow between the Korg, the computer and the other assembled toys I managed to put forth a passably strange half hour of sound. People seemed to quite enjoy it - there was a pretty good audience really and not just people I'd dragged down there! I finished on a rendition of Tadpoles, a particularly silly Bellerophon song which I recently unearthed.
I did also apply to Futuresonic with a kind of Bellerophon reunion in mind - but this hasn't come off. Never mind, there is always next year and I'll be going to the conference anyway with a bit of my work head on most likely. Still that gave me a kick up the bum to clean up my various musical websites and dump a few more tunes on the internet archive.
