Readers of Douglas Adams novel "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" will know exactly what I'm talking about. This morning we had the long-awaited delivery of our new sofas. We have ordered a "small" one and a "grand" one. To add some extra confusion into the mix some wardrobes turned up on a separate van simultaneously - perfect timing or what? The two chaps from Lewises successfully installed the "small" sofa but then of course the large one was more tricky. They wiggled it, they woggled it, they scratched their heads and were probably ready to sit down and have a cup of tea had I offered. In the end they brought it round the back and left it standing on it's side in the kitchen. Tomorrow at 9am a glazier will be arriving to make a new door. Let's hope that there is no more temporal mechanics required after that.
