The Tempest... at LRGS

Last night we went over to Lancaster to see my sister Sophie perform in a LRGS/LGGS joint production of The Tempest. Sophie played a spirit - and did some narration. It was quite a strange experience for a number of reasons, not least of which being that the casting involved teachers in two of the principal roles, including Dave Novell of LRGS Star-Trek society fame as Prospero. Caliban was quite excellent and very northern, the three-headed Ariel divided and burned in many places, the sprites flitted around (slightly randomly) and made some interesting shapes around which the action took place, particularly good being the boat at the beginning. Overall a very good evening's entertainment was had. The show is on again at the Grand Theatre on Saturday.
