As I was feeling rather hungry yesterday I went out into Bolton in search of food and found the Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant. On entering I was greeted with breakneck speed by the owner Tassos who sports one of the largest grins I have seen in a long time. I was shown to a table and very swiftly had a steaming cup of weak black tea, some brown bread and then a nice big cod, chips and peas. Now I've had a lot of fish over the years and I think this one rated quite highly - the batter was a little flat and the chips were a little soft but taste wise it gets four thumbs deffo. The decor in the enormous dining room may be plain but the service (as you may have gathered by the grin) was exceptionally amazing and involved a gang of beshirted waiters running the length of the restaruant to service their customers' every last bidding. Brilliant! No wonder they won the Readers Gold Medal in the Bolton restaurant of the year 2004 competition.

Fair enough, not been there in a very long while now... Thanks for the update. TBH I remember the chippy up at the other end of town (tucked behind the methodist hall I think) being quite a bit better and certainly fuss free.
Not very good. Fish flat. Chips the frozen type. Soup the powdered type. Steak sandwich stringy. All the running about by the staff trying to push seats under bums Fighting with each other to get your coats on and off is embarssing. Dont go there unless you are desperate.
