While browsing Hamish's weblog today I noticed an item I'd overlooked a month ago on Persuasive Technology. And the reminder of Stanford's Guidelines for Web Credibility, something which should be applied rigorously to a certain site I run.... Chris take note!

HP Labs are doing some very cool looking research on semantic blogging (I've already been wondering vaguely how much time it would take to add a more flexible category system to blosxom than the standard filesystem hierarchy based approach) and weblogs for bibliography management. Even more interesting, this work is being led by someone (Steve Cayzer) at HP Labs Bristol.

I quite agree that the constraints of trees (as blosxom) and relational databases (as movable type) are not condusive to the way I want to organise my online ramblings. I remember coming up with the concept of XML-based spaghetti bushes about two years ago (one which is waiting to be explained properly). There must be a better way.
